About the Role
As a Technology Services Engineer (Data Center Operations), you will provide on-site second-tier support and field engineering services to ensure the availability, performance, and recovery of our Manufacturing and Warehousing infrastructure.
You will play a key role in Manufacturing Capital Improvement Projects, collaborating with plant and warehouse stakeholders to design, build, install, upgrade, and optimize IT infrastructure solutions. This is a highly visible role where your technical expertise and proactive mindset directly impact operational excellence.
Working closely with your manager and Field Engineers, you will overcome geographical distances and ensure optimal use of tools, skills, and resources to deliver results. You take initiative, think beyond immediate fixes, and understand the broader impact of technology decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Business Process & Operational Support
Provide technical support for operational and maintenance activities
Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hardware, software, and system failures
Perform remote and on-site service and repair
Identify root causes of business process issues and recommend improvements
Document functional requirements and ROI opportunities
Design solutions that drive continuous improvement and competitive advantage
Infrastructure Services
Implement and maintain plant system security controls
Collaborate with Information Security to enable secure supplier remote access
Ensure system availability, recovery, and performance standards are met
Analyze, deliver, and maintain client, server, and network technologies
Recommend infrastructure enhancements aligned with business needs
Application & Production Support
Contribute to infrastructure requirements gathering
Identify incident trends and build proactive prevention plans
Collaborate with application designers and vendors to optimize infrastructure solutions
Perform comprehensive infrastructure testing to ensure business readiness
IT Process & Project Management
Adhere to SDLC and Release Management standards
Manage assigned project stages and deliver on time and within scope
Conduct root cause analysis and implement sustainable solutions
Assess urgency, impact, and risk of change requests
Participate in on-call rotation and provide project support as required
Maintain accurate time tracking and task estimation
What You Bring
Education & Experience
At least 2 years of experience in desktop/server hardware and software installation & support
Experience with Windows Server 2019+ administration preferred
VMWare ESX and/or Nutanix AHV experience desired
A+ and Network+ certifications preferred
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and Office
Understanding of networking fundamentals (Wi-Fi, LAN, switches, DHCP, DNS, IP addressing)
Experience with computer imaging and device lifecycle management
Ability to manage a 4-year technology refresh cycle
Familiarity with desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals
Basic virtualization knowledge
