What you’ll do
The Corporate Internal Control role is based in Amersfoort and reports to the Group Risk and Control Manager, with a dotted line to the Corporate Finance Director. You will work in close collaboration with Business Process Owners, Corporate Functions, and OpCo management to support the implementation, monitoring, and continuous enhancement of internal control activities. The role plays a key business-partnering function in embedding risk awareness into business processes, strengthening control effectiveness, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. It offers international exposure and the opportunity to make a tangible impact by driving best practices across the organization.
The Corporate Internal Risk & Control Specialist supports the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Nutreco’s internal control frameworks (KCF and NBSF) to identify, assess, and mitigate risks across the organization. The role closely partners with process and control owners to monitor control effectiveness, follow up on observations, and drive timely remediation with the ambition of zero overdue actions year-end. Acting as a trusted advisor, the specialist supports the rollout of global SHV policies and procedures, reviews compliance, delivers training and guidance to business teams, and contributes to process and project improvements by proactively identifying emerging risks. In addition, the role leads Corporate Enterprise Risk Assessments, maintains oversight of Segregation of Duties and Critical Access Reviews, and provides consolidated risk and control reporting to senior stakeholders while supporting countries in their local reporting.
Who we’re looking for
Nutreco is looking for a proactive, hands-on professional who combines strong analytical capabilities with effective stakeholder management. You are comfortable operating in a fast-paced, international environment and are able to balance attention to detail with strategic impact.
You’ll also need:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Risk Management, or related field.
5-7 years of experience in internal control, audit, or risk management, preferably within a multinational company or Big 4 audit firm.
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to work with data and process controls.
Effective communicator, both oral and written.
Flexibility in prioritizing work tasks.
Results-oriented individual, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Self-motivated/self-starter.
Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet deadlines. Effective time management skills.
Fluent in English (additional languages are a plus).
Willingness to travel occasionally (2-3 times per year).
