We are expanding our Treasury and Insurance team at our headquarters in Rotterdam and are looking for a new colleague to join us as our:
Insurance Manager
In this exciting role, you will be responsible for shaping, managing, and continuously improving our global insurance portfolio across Europe, North America, and Australia — with a main focus on Europe and Australia. You ensure our people, assets, operations, and long term resilience are protected, while working closely with Business Units, brokers, insurers, operations, and senior stakeholders.
This is a role with high autonomy, international exposure, and direct business impact. As Insurance Manager, you will drive our insurance strategy, lead key processes end to end, and advise leaders across the organization on insurance and risk-related matters. You will play a vital role in strengthening business continuity and ensuring our growing organization is protected in the right way.
The Role
Insurance Program Management
• Manage global insurance programs, including property damage, business interruption, cyber, product liability, general liability, marine cargo, and D&O.
• Ensure appropriate and cost effective coverage for all manufacturing plants, warehouses, and logistics operations.
• Lead renewals: collect underwriting data, analyse exposure, coordinate stakeholders, and negotiate terms, conditions, and premiums with insurers and brokers.
• Develop and implement a Group Risk Manual to ensure consistent and professional risk and insurance practices across all regions.
Risk Assessment & Mitigation
• Identify and assess operational, financial, and strategic risks across beverage production facilities and supply chains.
• Collaborate with operations, legal, safety & quality teams to develop effective risk mitigation strategies.
• Support loss prevention activities, including internal and external safety audits.
• Provide expert guidance to plant managers and regional leaders on insurance matters.
Claims Management
• Oversee and support insurance claims and investigations for European Business Units.
• Track claims performance, identify trends, and lead improvements that reduce risk and future losses.
Compliance & Regulatory Requirements
• Ensure compliance with local insurance regulations and industry standards across Europe and Australia.
• Maintain accurate documentation for audits, internal reporting, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor developments in insurance legislation and translate changes into updated internal requirements.
Budget & Cost Optimization
• Manage and forecast insurance budgets, including premiums and broker fees.
• Analyse market trends and propose cost effective risk transfer options.
• Support cost reduction initiatives while ensuring adequate coverage and business continuity.
About You
You are a proactive and analytical insurance professional with a strong sense of ownership. You combine technical expertise with excellent communication skills and enjoy navigating an international, cross functional environment.
Education
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Insurance, Business Administration, or Law.
• Professional certifications (FERMA Rimap, CII, CPCU) are a strong plus.
Experience
• 5–8 years of experience in international corporate insurance or risk management.
• Knowledge of manufacturing environments, preferably FMCG or beverage.
• Strong understanding of European insurance markets and regulatory frameworks.
Skills & Competencies
• Goal oriented and dedicated, with strong organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Strong negotiation skills and experience managing insurance contracts.
• Thorough understanding of corporate insurance solutions and international regulations.
• Solid grasp of manufacturing risks and supply chain exposures.
• Analytical mindset with proven problem solving capabilities.
• Curious, eager to learn, and focused on continuous improvement.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.
Additional Information
This position requires occasional travel to our plants and warehouses across Europe.
