A Day in the Life of a Mendix Product Owner at Refresco
Imagine starting your day in our Rotterdam office with a fresh coffee and a quick scan of overnight updates. You kick things off by aligning with our external development partner in a stand-up, making sure they’re unblocked and ready to tackle the day’s priorities.
Next, you dive into an incident that needs attention—acting as the sparring partner who asks the right questions so the developer can find the solution. Sometimes, you’re the ‘rubber duck’ that helps them crack the logic puzzle.
Mid-morning, you shift gears to prepare for the bi-weekly Change Control Board meeting. You review new business requests, check if they fit within our Mendix architecture, and ensure everything aligns with the roadmap.
After a quick chat with key users to clarify requirements, you refine the backlog—turning ideas into actionable user stories. Lunch? It’s Thursday, so it’s Refresco Tosti Day—a perfect moment to recharge before the afternoon strategy session.
In the afternoon, you join a roadmap discussion for next year’s big features, balancing business needs with technical feasibility. Later, you finalize the agenda for tomorrow’s CCB meeting and check in with the developer who’s been working on that tricky incident. Together, you confirm the fix and share the good news with stakeholders.
Before wrapping up, you review automated processes for incident handling and note improvements for next sprint. Maybe you even grab a piece of fresh fruit or sample a new Refresco drink from the fridge—perks of the job!
This is a role where you’re the bridge between business and technology, ensuring smooth development, strategic alignment, and continuous improvement—all in a dynamic, international environment that values innovation and collaboration.
