To ensure Zeelandia’s legal compliance and future readiness of packaging across the group, we are looking for a proactive Packaging Legislation & Specification Lead. In this newly created group-level role, you will become the expert on packaging legislation and specifications for all Zeelandia locations worldwide. You will play a key role in aligning regulatory requirements with business objectives, sustainability ambitions and operational feasibility. To be successful in this position, you are able to switch easily between strategic, advisory and hands-on coordinating activities, and translate regulatory developments into practical, compliant packaging solutions.
Functie
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with current and future regulatory and sustainability requirements for Zeelandia’s packaging across the Group
- Collecting and structuring packaging data from local plants, obtaining information from packaging suppliers and documenting this information centrally.
- Monitoring and interpreting (inter)national packaging legislation and developments, including the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR)
- Acting as the central point of contact for packaging legislation and specification related aspects, and advising internal and external stakeholders
- Managing external relations with trade associations and industry bodies, such as FNLI and FEDIMA, on the subject of packaging
- Collaborating closely with colleagues from R&D, CSR, Procurement, Quality and Regulatory Affairs at both group and local level
- Report to the Group Regulatory Affairs & Raw Material Specifications Manager.
Profiel
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Food Technology, Chemistry, Engineering, (Food) Law or a related field
- Prior experience in a Regulatory role and in-dept knowledge of food and packaging laws and regulations; knowledge of PPWR, PLM and ERP systems are considered a plus
- Proactive, independent and able to manage competing priorities between sustainability ambitions, food safety, legal requirements and business needs
- Solution-oriented, has strong communicative skills in English and looks actively for ways to improve or adjust
- Thrives in an international environment and is used to working with different disciplines and cultures
- Has the ability to drive a group vision and translate it into a hands-on way of working
