About
the role
We are
looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Head of Operations &
Sourcing with strong commercial acumen to elevate our operations and the
Jan Dekker brand to the next level.
In this
role, you will oversee operational processes and supply chain activities, while
developing strategic sourcing initiatives in close collaboration with IMCD’s
sourcing teams in China and India. You will work closely with IMCD’s global
teams to identify opportunities, optimize processes, and expand our product
portfolio.
Alongside
enhancing operational efficiency and supply chain performance to drive global
and market segment expansion, a key part of your job will be identifying and
securing product sources to expand the Jan Dekker portfolio (in close
cooperation with the commercial teams of IMCD).
Key responsibilities
- Lead and inspire the Amsterdam
operations and sourcing team.
- Oversee and manage purchasing
and procurement activities, ensuring cost-effectiveness and accurate
fulfilment.
- Coordinate global sourcing
activities for Jan Dekker in close alignment with IMCD’s sourcing teams in
India and China.
- Identify, evaluate, and
transition suitable products under the Jan Dekker brand in collaboration
with commercial teams.
- Develop and execute operations,
supply chain, and sourcing strategies that support long-term business
goals and global expansion.
- Foster strong supplier
relationships and ensure high standards of quality and compliance.
- Collaborate cross-functionally
with internal stakeholders to support innovation and growth initiatives.
What we
are looking for
- A relevant academic degree,
preferably in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 7–10 years of experience in
supply chain, operations management, and strategic sourcing in a business
environment, with proven leadership experience in a complex, international
setup.
- Experience in a (chemical)
distribution environment and/or industrial B2B is a strong plus.
- Knowledge of ERP systems;
experience with JDE is an advantage.
- Excellent command of English
(spoken and written); Dutch is a plus.

stakeholder management skills.
- Entrepreneurial and commercial
mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and turn them into
impact.
- A proactive, “can-do” mentality
combined with a structured and strategic approach.
- Living in the Amsterdam area or
Randstad region. Valid EU work permit.
