Wat ga je doen?
Duynie in Nijmegen is seeking a motivated Master's student to join our R&D department as a Starch Structure Research Intern. This position offers an opportunity to investigate the relationship between starch molecular architecture and functional properties in various applications.
The internship centers on elucidating how chemical modifications to starch polymers influence their functional behavior in various application environments. Modified starches exhibit diverse properties depending on their structural characteristics, and this research aims to establish systematic structure-function relationships.
🚀 Your mission: You will dive into the fascinating world of modified starches, exploring how their chemical structure affects functional properties in various applications.
During this internship you will:
- Design and execute laboratory-scale experiments and chemical analyses;
- Conduct application testing to evaluate starch performance under realistic conditions;
- Analyze experimental data and correlate findings with functional properties;
- Review scientific literature on starch chemistry and modification methodologies;
- Contribute to the development and optimization of experimental protocols.
The intern will work collaboratively within our R&D team, engaging directly with specialists in product development and application science, with opportunities for cross-departmental interaction.
